A victim of a Ferry Sewol accident
At that time, Koreans were in great sadness. There is a reason why Koreans were even more shocked. This was because there were 325 high school students on the ship going on a group trip. The Sewol ferry was carrying 325 second-year students from Ansan Danwon High School who went on a school trip to Jeju Island, and the damage to the young students was great.
The joint investigation headquarters of the prosecution and police announced in October 2014 that the cause of the sinking of the Sewol was overloaded with cargo, poor tightness, excessive hull expansion, and poor driving of the helmsman. Since then, the Sewol Shipbuilding Committee was launched in March 2017 when the Special Act on the Sewol Hull Investigation Committee was agreed upon, which led to the salvage of the Sewol and the recovery and search of the unexplored.
